7A MATH
2021-2022
Welcome to Mr. Bullock's web page!
I was born in Booneville, Mississippi and grew up on a farm outside of the small town. My father was a teacher, coach and guidance counselor but his passion was always farming. I attended Mississippi State University where I received my degree in education. (No, it's not Ole Miss!) I started teaching in Germantown, Tennessee at Farmington Elementary School when I was 23 years old. In 1997 I moved to Atlanta and taught in Cobb County Schools for several years at Durham Middle School. The commute finally got to me and in 2006 I was hired by DeKalb County Schools to teach at the then Shamrock Middle School. A few years later the school was renamed Druid Hills Middle School. Currently, I am a math teacher at Druid Hills Middle and serve as the math department co-chair with Mr. Jarrod Mitchell. In 2017, I had the honor of being selected as the DHMS Teacher of the Year through a vote by my peers.
As a teacher I strive for students to leave my class prepared and more confident and ready for math in the next grade level . Also, I want my students to have confidence in themselves become lifelong learners. I try to establish rapport with students and an environment conducive for learning. Students are strongly encouraged to ask questions and to participate in class discussions and problem solving activities. I look forward to working with students and parents to make 2020-2021 a great school year!
